Summer Must Haves
Summer is quickly approaching, and if you’re a college or university student, you know thats its felt so close since we finished school a month ago! I always tend to procrastinate on my summer shopping and when the warm weather hits, I’m left here without tanning oil, shorts, summer dresses, sunglasses… and more. Like sorry friends… I can’t come out tonight because I gave all my last summer’s clothes away and only have my winter hoodies? So to avoid that this year, I’ve actually been somewhat productive and have been slowly building a collection of summer accessories and pieces for my summer wardrobe. (yay me…. SUCH talent! woo!).. Any who… here are some things I have ordered or will be ordering to prepare.. Enjoy!
Bali Body Watermelon Tanning Oil: $30.95 CAD
A bit pricey I know…. but I’m a sucker for the package and any product that promises me a good tan. Also it has watermelon seed extract so help nourish and moisturize the skin which I desperately need, and smells so good I could eat it. Tad disappointed with the size but once again… needed to try.
This bronzer is my favourite bronzer ever and I former need to restock on it. It is the most natural tan shade ever and I don’t need much coverage in the summer since I am tan, so I just pop some of this one and voila. Its apparently waterproof too soooooo caaammmmon.
T-Shirt Dress: $34 USD
I love dresses like this because they’re so easy to just throw on over a bikini or to run errands in and I seriously hate being uncomfortable when it’s hot and sweaty out so these make for super casual days… BUT not only that, it’s so easy to dress up and wear to a pub for a night out too if needed which I really like about them. Posting some more dressed below
Marble Reflector Sunglasses: $44 AUD
I love these style sunglasses right now and am obsessed. If not something like this, just plain aviators work fine for me. I can’t really pull of any other styles with my face shape but hey, as long as my eyes are protected, I’m cool.
I can’t seem to grasp the concept of wearing gladiator sandals and all those fancy tie up ones…. I AM WAY TOO LAZY. I only wear flip flops.. which I break almost monthly so I buy those cheap black and white ones from Ardene and abuse the shit out of them. These Nike’s may be the nicest sandals I plan on owning.. and once again I will probably just stick to black and white when I purchase. I need something that I can slip on and off.. I am NOT about that “sitting down and unbuckling my shoes” lifestyle. Props to all you who can tolerate it, I wish I could be like you.
All my bikinis are faded or don’t fit my boobs anymore so its time to upgrade, and I’m really really loving simple and natural looking ones right now. I am over the whole diamonds and hearts and crazy VS designs on them… simplicity is best and these Frankies swimwear are stunning :’).
You have to protect your skin come on ladies.. I have been using sunscreen everyday on my face underneath my makeup and primer even though it’s not sunny out. Mostly because I love the smell of sunscreen and because I feel better having it on (I rlllly don’t want wrinkles). Make sure to use it everyday before exposing your delicate skin to that sun! (plus this one looks cute lol).
Even Brandon was impressed with this stuff! Smells like heaven (I’m a sucker for coconut and pineapple or anything tropical for that matter) and it feels like your skin has turned into silk.. idk. It just feels amazing on the skin and is so easy to spray. Also leaves your skin looking hydrated and glowy. Definitely a must have this summer.
I only really wear high waisted shorts in the summer. For my body type, that is my preference. I feel more confident with them and like the way they look on me so I range from flowy comfortable shorts to tight denim ones. I always stick with cheap ones because I tend to wear them out a lot and replace them each summer.
Beach waves in the summer are a must. Why even apply heat to the hair when its not needed. I rarely style my hair in the summer, only sometimes if I am going out and even then, I’ve rocked my beach waves. My hair is naturally wavy but I do like to add a bit of mouse of a spray to it and scrunch it a bit more so the waves are more defined and hold longer. Also takes away a bit of the frizziness by doing this.
